Girl child education must be a priority to all head teachers

To bridge the gap between poverty, vulnerability and equality in our society, the girl child education should be everyone’s priority.

Commenting exclusively to Metro News, head mistress of St. Louis Senior High School Mrs Theresa Addai (Maa Thess) implored everybody to make education a priority especially a girl child education.

Maa Thess, however, admitted that education in Africa is expensive, but that shouldn’t be excused for parents to ignored taking full responsibility their children’s education.

It’s incumbent on parents to take advantage of President Akuffo Addo’s Free SHS policy which is expected to roll out this September to educate their children especially the girl child education; she, therefore, commended the government for the initiative.

Even though there has been some progression regarding the girl child education regardless, we need to do more to reduce the deficit.

“I still hold to the saying that if you educate a man you educate a person but if you educate a woman you educated a nation” and stated categorically that we should make in roles and ensure our girls are in classrooms during teaching hours.

Mrs Theresa Addai said education excellence is the heart of all things irrespective of associated challenges and we need to take advantage globalisation.

She advised our lovely girls who are lucky to be in school to learn hard to become somebody in future.
