Hearts of Oak confirm Nutall sack, Henry Wellington takes over as interim manager

Frank Nutall

Accra Hearts of Oak have released an official statement comfirming the club has terminated the contract of Scottish manager Frank Nutall with immediate effect.

The decision was agreed upon after a three-man committee set up to investigate Nutall’s alleged misconduct found him guilty of the charges.

Nuttall joined the Phobians last season on a two-year deal.

He led the club to a third place finish in the 2017 Ghana Premier League, they were also in the FA Cup final but lost 3-1 to their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko and lost the 2018 GHALCA G8 trophy to Dreams FC.

The 49 year old gaffer is believed to be already in advanced talks with Elmina Sharks to take charge of the team in the forthcoming season.

Assistant coach Henry Wellington will take over as Hearts of Oak interim head coach until further notice.
