Vice President of Ghana Football Association George Afriyie is confident about his chances If he decides to contest the position of FA President in 2019.
The incumbent President Nyantakyi, has already confirmed that he would not contest for reelection in 2019 after becoming the association’s chief in 2005 when he replaced Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakoe.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Afriyie However disclosed he has not yet formally thrown himself into the race and says he will have to consult Nyantekyi before deciding.
“I haven’t declared my intensions to contest for GFA president,however if I do, there are processes to go through
I know how to win GFA presidency,I know the terrain, so If I decide to contest I know how I would run the campaign
I’m not afraid of anybody,and I have every right to contest every position in football”
Although Afriyie’s campaign is yet to take off he has already began rallying support with many football administrators endorsing him as the natural successor to Nyantekyi.
