A 60-year-old Traditional Herbal Practitioner Kofi Karikari is recovering from snakebite after reportedly being bitten on the tongue by a snake he was trying to kiss.

Information gathered by Ayehu team revealed that the man was playing with the snake and when he subsequently attempted to kiss it, he received an unexpected bite.

In an interview on Ayehu program on Metro FM Monday 10th July 2017.
An eyewitness, Nkansah Paul, told the host, Krobea Nana Yaw Asante that “….the man bought the snake from Somanya with the purpose that the snake will help him [Karikari] to catch people’s attention to patronize his products, herbs, but unfortunately the snake bit him.”

Listen to the audio below:

Several people who gathered at the place reacted to the incident. One person was heard saying ‘’Karikari was just acting silly, you know? I guess he said he could kiss the snake and get away with it, but evidently, he could not.”

The herbal medicine seller has since received treatment and expected to survive, according to his friends.
