Metro FM Sports – Former striker Thomas Duah wants peaceful Asamoah Gyan retirement

Former Ghana international striker Thomas Duah want to see Asamoah Gyan retire from international football peacefully.

Duah, 39, who played for Ghanaian sides Neoplan Stars and GHAPOHA before going abroad to join St.Pauli II in Germany and Auxerre B in France appeared on the Matured and Academic Sports on Monday morning.

“We should let Asamoah Gyan retire at his own volition. Nobody should force him to quit because he’s done a lot for us. He is the highest goalscorer for us and I always say if you look back and see how likes of Abedi Pele, Michael Essien, Sule Muntari and co left the national team it wasn’t in a good way.” Duah stressed.

According to Duah, Asamoah Gyan is a good mentor for the up and coming players in the national team and they will benefit from sharing the Black Stars’s dressing room with him.

“Gyan is a winner and a leader. The young players will learn from him. He should hang around and I believe he will call it a day very soon.” The former goalscorer who shared the same training facility at the Stade Abe-Deschamps along the likes of Laurent Blanc, Sabri Lamouchi and Djibril Cisse said.
